BREAKING: Racist Tea-Party Palin Supporters Bounce Brandy from ‘Dancing’

This week’s episode of ABC’s Dancing With the Stars saw Brandy, a strong favorite, voted out, while Bristol Palin advanced to the next round.  ABC executives are scrambling to explain what some critics call “voter irregularities”, while others are howling charges of racism at the voting viewers and ABC.  An unconfirmed reported says that Brandy has a team of lawyers looking into the voting results, and that they may demand a recount.  Details to follow as they become available.

Yep, I was there…

…in Boston at the Tea Party on Wednesday, the 14th. It was a pretty mellow gathering, truth be told. Someone today asked me how it was, and I said “it was nice”. I was in Worcester last year, and it was really rowdy, but I was hanging with some older folks in Boston, and it was very low-key (and I wandered around a lot, and I didn’t see much rowdy at all).  I forgot how pretty Boston is in springtime, and it was a beautiful day to see Sarah P. in Massachusetts(!), get a burrito from my favorite cart vendor, and feel the rumble of the MBTA beneath my park bench as I basked in the midday sun for the quietest lunch I’ve had in years.

Here’s a shot of the Worcester Tea Party held on Wednesday.  It was barely covered by the local news (and pooh-poohed when actually covered), and the turnout was between 1,000 and 1,500 people (in Massachusetts????).  I went with my Mom and my two kids; the message was to pay attention to the knuckleheads approving all the taxing and spending, and don’t let them off the hook.  Contrary to mainstream public opinion, there were no burning crosses or effigies, or Nazi salutes or anything.  Just some nice people with an opinion.
